iCONECT Adds Unicode Compatibility, a New Native File Viewer, and MoreLos Angeles, CA (December 22, 2008) iCONECT Development, LLC, a world leader in litigation support software since 1999, has expanded its flagship product, iCONECTnXT, to include Unicode compatibility, a new Native File Viewer, TIFF-on-the-Fly, Concept Searching, enhanced support for the EDRM XML schema, and new system scalability options. A SQL Server Connector is also planned for Q1 2009. Unicode compatibility enables firms to compete for international cases by providing a cost-effective solution for working with foreign documents. Multilingual data can be loaded into nXT without translation to English, and then searched and reviewed in the same manner as English documents. The embedded Native File Viewer in addition to TIFF-on-the-Fly streamlines review and production workflow. View files quickly in their true native format for better accuracy, and annotate or redact the native files as needed, with no need to load the native program or export to vendors to create TIFFs. Concept Searching is powered by an integration with Content Analyst that provides a pre-review analysis to organize related documents into concept-based folders, identifies what issues are present, and enables your top reviewers to focus on the key documents. This filtering capability reduces review time, improves review accuracy, and provides significant savings on overall litigation costs. "The ability to handle multilingual datasets, especially in languages of Eastern Europe, Asia and the Middle East, as part of discovery efforts is key to supporting any cross-border dispute in today's global economy," said George Rudoy, Director of Global Practice Technology & Information Services at Shearman & Sterling LLP. "Proficiency of this technology to display, search, categorize, review and produce documents in their native languages will provide our attorneys with a competitive advantage to represent our global clients." To enhance nXT's support for EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model) XML load files, iCONECT is working with companies such as Recommind and Kazeon to further tighten the seamless transfer of data between their products and nXT using the EDRM XML schema. New scalable configuration options enable firms to easily expand their nXT systems as their case loads grow. Add a Data Server to an existing nXT system to immediately double storage capacity, or add a Web Server and implement a load balancing system to support more users, improve response time, and gain redundancy. The SQL Server Connector will add to nXT’s existing database options, so firms can choose the best fit for their infrastructure requirements: nXT with embedded database technology; nXT connected to Microsoft SQL Server (NASDAQ:MSFT); or nXT connected to Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL). nXT can be purchased as an in-house solution or used with one of iCONECT’s worldwide network of over 50 application service providers (ASPs) to host your legal projects. ASPs offer hosting with nXT as a key component of their overall e-discovery offering to law firms, government agencies and corporations. Please contact us to learn more.
